At Stanfords bookshop, we are globe trotting my book cover designs.
In Iceland, there are copies of Moonstone by Sjón. This is illustrated by the wonderfully talented Owen Gent.
Moonstone is also proudly part of The Best of European Literature display.
In Switzerland, there are multiple copies of The Gilded Chalet by Padraig Rooney displayed facing out in all its glory. The portraits of Byron, Mary Shelley and James Joyce are illustrated by the speedy and super talented Alan Vest. Alan also illustrates author portraits regularly for The Guardian, so it was great to have him on board with this project.
In Russia, two of the Irina Ratushinskaya fiction collection is spotted: Grey is the Colour of Hope and In the Beginning.
And among the Middle East and Central Asia section, The Lovers by Rod Nordland paperback edition sits beautifully.
These new books are out and about in bookshops now.
The Lovers paperback with a new Afterword is available to purchase. It is really worth reading as it is an important book that talks about both human and women’s rights. Young lovers, Zakia and Ali have had to flee their homes as their marriage is forbidden by ethnic and religious differences in Afghanistan. This edition gives the latest update on their situation since the hardback was published last year.
And the first in the Frostblood trilogy is spotted in the bookshop amongst other YA books. It is weather appropriate for this month too.
Some more of my book cover designs spotted in various bookshops this December 2016:
The Double Life of Mistress Kit Kavanagh PB, Marina Fiorato.
Battlefield of the Mind PB reissue, Joyce Meyer.
Moonstone HB, Sjón, could have been the perfect Christmas present.
The Lovers HB, Rod Nordland, in the Biography section.
