These new books are out and about in bookshops now.
The Lovers paperback with a new Afterword is available to purchase. It is really worth reading as it is an important book that talks about both human and women’s rights. Young lovers, Zakia and Ali have had to flee their homes as their marriage is forbidden by ethnic and religious differences in Afghanistan. This edition gives the latest update on their situation since the hardback was published last year.
And the first in the Frostblood trilogy is spotted in the bookshop amongst other YA books. It is weather appropriate for this month too.
My book cover design for Frostblood TPB is the first in the new YA trilogy (Fireblood and Darkblood to come). This will be available to purchase in January 2017. I have managed to get hold of an advanced copy before the Christmas holidays, exciting!! The special finishes is a matt lamination with spot UV on the title, author name and a few glistening icy details.
About the book:
Enter a world where fire and ice are mortal enemies…
Ruby is a Fireblood. In a land ruled by frost, her very existence is a crime. She’s spent her whole life in hiding.
Until the day Frostblood soldiers raid her village and kill her mother. The day she swears to avenge her people.
She must travel deep into the heart of the enemy, to the court of the Frost King, with only the mysterious warrior Arcus – a Frostblood rebel – by her side. But with alliances between flame and ice strictly forbidden, is Arcus friend or foe?
Ruby will only have one chance to destroy the maniacal ruler who took everything from her. But she has no idea just how hot her fire will burn…
The Frostblood cover was revealed yesterday! This is the first book in the epic trilogy by Elly Blake. The cover brief was to create a beautiful and striking fantasy novel with a symbolic element. Also to bear in mind that the next two books in the series needs to look distinct but work together as a set.
